New to paph my first! Identification
I saw these at wegmans, I hadn't bought an Orchid in forever so I bought this one. Can someone identify the name?
Upon looking at it at home , I noticed the new growth second set of leaves were small and then the third set are normal. Is there something wrong?
Thank you kindly.
Any pointers would be appreciated .

You've got a complex or "bulldog" type paphiopedilum and it looks pretty happy. If there's no label then that is likely the extent of the identification anyone can give you.
These are really rewarding plants (and i've bought some of these from wegmans in the past also). They bloom at this time of year if grown properly.
A couple important tips...
Your plant looks to be in a ceramic pot with no drainage and potted in sphagnum moss... none of these are good for a paph. Repotting while in bloom could cause the flower to drop though. My recommendation is to only water it when the moss is nearly bone dry and just dive it enough water to dampen the moss. If water sits at the bottom of the container you'll have root rot and likely lose the plant.
When the flower fades, cut the flower stalk back to where it exits the leaves. Remove the plant from that container, and plant in an orchid potting mix that drains well. Make sure your new container (plastic is probably best) has good drainage (holes in the bottom).
I water my paphs twice a week and fertilize 1-2 times a month (or weakly weekly is a good mantra to go by).
I hope that helps! Happy Growing!

With regard to naming ... as Philly mentioned, you currently have all the name you ever will for it. There are so many lookalike hybrids out there that obtaining the actual name (beyond "Paphiopedilum") is impossible. It shall forever be a NoID ("no ID"). Simply enjoy it for what it is.

I lifted it out of the pot. The roots are fuzzy and seemed very hard. There was charcoal and bark at the base the top was the only part that had the moss. I trimmed some roots and cleaned the charcoal and bark and placed it in a plastic pot with drainage and put a top scattering of moss. I hope it keeps doing well. Thanks for your recommendations!
It's getting about 4500k of light in the daytime . Is this ok? Thanks

Here is a link to the nursery that supplies wegmans. My husband bought me a paph (my first) from there yesterday and I did a little research. I emailed them with a pic to see if I can get an ID. I haven't heard back but I only emailed them last night.

I want to visit Wegmans whatever that is!
I like your paph. it is sooooo intensely and beautifully colored!
It is impossible to find a name because these paphs are results of mixing this and that for over hundred years and soooooo many of them look alike, or within the same particular breeding, the resulting flowers can look vastly different.

The roots of a paph should be fuzzy and hard and will have a white tip at the end if they are actively growing. Not sure what you mean by 4500K of light. Are you growing under lights with 4500K bulbs?
That's a nice looking flower.

Thanks , I guess the fuzzy on the roots transitions to the flower fuzziness. They did not have any active growing root tips. I have the light meter app. I moved it a little closer to the window and says 5000k. Thanks for the compliment, I guess it was luck!

It is a grocery store chain that was started by the Wegman family here in Rochester. It's similar to Whole Foods. We shop there because they have the best selection of organic fruits and vegetables around.

I see!
If I'm ever in that area, I'll stop by and try my luck.
