I got this from Orchid Inn 2 or 3 years ago as a large seedling. Looks like I may get only 1 bloom this go around but I think the dorsal looks pretty good.

Ooo, a Lady Rothschild, and yes, that dorsal is great looking in my eyes.

How big is the leafspan on it?

I've learned something from my Paph killing escapades (I wouldn't go as far as to refer to myself as 'wiser', not without cracking up afterwards, at least) and purchased a couple of Paph hybrids. I'm no fan of complex hybrids, but these primary x species crosses, I like.

So, I bought a Paph Lady Rothschild, a Paph MK x gardineri, a Paph Mount Toro x gardineri, and a Paph Wössner Kolarmi (armeniacum x kolopakingii; poor man's Dollgoldi?).

Only one of them is BS, so I'll have to wait for my Lady to flower as she is about only half grown yet, I think.

The leaf span is probably about 14-16 in. Those sound like some nice crosses you have.

Blimey... Mine has a leaf span of ~60cm (~24") and it's a year, a year and a half away from blooming size. It worries me, because the vendor had two different Lady Rothschild for sale, BS and mine (NBS?). I'm afraid I might have gotten the wrong one... It's just one growth however, so it could be accurate.

They CAN be nice, at least the MK x gardineri one. I've seen pictures of the same cross, but from Sam, and those were gorgeous. Mine is from Europe where no line breeding is undertaken, so I really don't know what I'll get. If I'm really unlucky, it'll even be the wrong cross (have gotten mislabeled plants before).

Again, congrats on a very nice Paph and for blooming said Paph. I hope mine get such a lovely dorsal as yours.
