This is a hybrid between Hsinying Rubyweb and wardii.
It's interesting how strong of influence wardii has on both the entire plant and the flower shape & color pattern.
The picture came out so bad that it does not really show how beautiful the leaves actually are.
The petals and pouch are nearly black, and the underside of the leaves are dark purple. I find the flower ok but love the leaves on this one.
The thing is that this is one of those slow growers.
I bought this in spike and with a small new fan starting in August. That new fan grew three leaves during the span of over one year and now back in bloom. There is no sign of any new fans. so, I'm afraid it will take a while to see one coming, but for now I'm enjoying the leaves and the flower.
Now I'm really temped to get a flask of wardii x vini maudiae type, but no more space to hold them.
