Like it despite it being a toilet Paph. I think these hybrids have the wonderful colour from armeniacum, but better proportions than that one, in my eyes that is.

I love this hybrid and have two or three seedings.
I plan to buy more, and if I had enough space, I would buy tons!!! I love bright yellow.

I hope at least one of mine will turn out chunky.

How long have you had this plant?

I never liked these because of the toilet bowl shaped pouch as well. now I'm totally in love with them and their leaves!!!
I am still not in love with micranthum with its totally disproportionally large toilet pouch. yuck!!!
I love many of their hybrids though. Micranthum impart such interesting color and makrs on the hybrid flowers.

I couldn't agree more with everything you wrote here. I have a malipoense that I got as a freebie from a vendor. I never would've bought one myself (the proportions of the flower is good, but the colour is pretty meh), but this one I kept, because the foliage is so amazingly beautiful. It almost looks fake, with the tessellation, undulations, and special shine the leaves have. I absolutely love it, and this Paph seems to like my completely wrong care for it.

Oh, micranthum was the one that made me call the entire Parvisepalum subgenus toilet Paphs. I feel that it's quite unfair of me to refer to them all like that, since none of them are as extreme looking as that one. I must say I love the colour scheme on micranthum though. Very beautiful.

I also got a freebie malipoense, but it's like barely 5 cm across, so who knows when I will ever get to see the flower! but I love malipoense flower color when it's really intense green, not like washed out greyish green.

My little maliopoense seedling also has wonderfully patterned leaves. I love it!!!
My favorite parvi leaves are micranthum, malipoense and vietnamense. their hybrids tend to be beautifully mottled as well, although they all come out different.

So far, may parvis are quite frustratingly slow growers other than my Armeni White, which is a great plant and also a starting point for me to develop a real taste for parvis.

I love parvis because they have wonderful leaves, stay compact and are a bit easier to grow and bloom. I don't see toilets in their flowers. Micranthum is one of my favorites .
I also have malipoense seedlings - about 30 of them, deflasked last September. They are the cutest seedlings I have ever had with their patterned leaves and that special velvety steel shine that malipo usually has. It's fun watching them grow.

My guess is that your Armeni White is faster because it's a hybrid. My malipoense is slow growing, but it was bigger than yours when I got it, and now it has a leafspan of ca 20cm (8"). One of my favourites!

The toilet is all in the eyes of the beholder.

It sounds like Parvis really fit you. I only have two and I have no idea if I'll ever get them to flower. They're so beautiful anyway, so it doesn't matter.

What substrate do you use? I think I want my mali to be happier than it is now, so I'll do what I can.
