Good job getting it to spike after all that. Waiting six years for a flower is a feat in my book.  I think it can be rather encouraging for us newer growers to witness such patience even as it involves some errors on the growers part.

Yeah, I realized that the flower is bigger than the pot!

Roots have been doing well the last couple of years, so it may go into a bigger pot in the spring.
I have been known to wait a few years to get blooms - tho this one has been the longest wait, yet - if the plant is otherwise looking good; and if I have never seen the blooms before, I do feel that I want to see them - they could possibly be fabulous!
Right now, I have a first ever spike on a Laelia I've had a few years ... I'm excited to see the blooms! I hope nothing happens to the buds ...
