Aha! I've had rather low humidity (waiting for those filters for my humidifier so I can get it up a bit again), so maybe that's why they kept going? Plus, according to one of the more experienced Paph growers over at Slippertalk, my MK displays more sanderianum, which could be why the petals continued to elongate for some time. They stopped at 19", so lets see if it beats it the next time it flowers.
Oh, it's on a pedestal, so the petals need to get over a meter in length before they touch the floor.
