I found the worlds most expensive orchid for sale as they say online, well I found this flowering size plant for way below the $5000 value for only R300(about $30)
So I really want to buy this one but is it worth growing this species and what are the basic care tips. Happy growing!

Yes! I love roths, despite never even seen one flower IRL.

Very basic care tips:
Don't let it dry out between waterings, but don't keep it too wet. Cattleya light levels (south facing window), and intermediate temperatures.

Having said that, I'm growing my four baby roths on an east facing windowsill (underneath a T5 80W as extra lighting during the winter) and in warm temperatures. It seems good enough to keep them growing, but I don't know if it'll be enough to flower them.

If you can, buy a BS roth, since they are real slow growers!

Here you have some data on roths in the wild: rothschildianum

NFS should work, then you won't have to wait 5-7 years for it to reach flower size. What is the leaf span?

You can buy very nice one that is nearly fully mature for just hundreds of dollars nowadays.
It is still quite expensive for a plant, but 5,000 has to be for old days or something very very nice.

I read the link. The author does not know much about plants, since he or she describes rothschildianum as having a single flower. Also, saffron crocus are inexpensive, it is the harvested and dried saffron that is pricy.

I think you are very lucky to buy such a plant at that price. To buy good quality Paphs you would pay no less than R300,00 per plant and for a Roth it would be cheap.

Interesting link, but don't trust.
No 1 Kadupul is an Epiphyllum from Central America.
And if you want to grow an Paphi. rothschildianum, start of with it's hybrids to gain experience.
