Paphiopedilum spicerianum X Gege Hughes
Default Paphiopedilum spicerianum X Gege Hughes

I bought this in bloom last year and the bloom lasted for about 7 months! The longest lasting flower of anything I have so far.

It threw multiple growths during the summer and up to now.
It has one open flower and another bud that will soon open.

It looks pretty much like spicerianum but overall much lighter green and missing the purple pigmentation on the staminode.

As much as I like how it looks when fresh, the dorsal does reflex backward and end up looking like spicerianum over time.

It is nice. I wish the dorsal stayed flat open though. Oh, well.

It is such a good grower.
