Jeremy- I think your Henry is a dud. I tried different clones and some were better than others.

By the way, how big is your Robinianum?

I have two - the large one is getting... large, and I'm concerned (being an indoor grower) how much space it's going to take. There are six growths on it now and it's already outgrown a 1 gallon pot. We will see though. The smaller one bloomed for the first time this year with five flowers. It's growing a bit different than the other, so I hope it stays that way :-)

I think yr henry is just intimidated by your druryi. I am trying to get some sense re if it's a reliable bloomer when grown indoors.

When the one of the two pots of the noid I have had forever finally opens its first, current bud...not too long from now----I became convinced here, it has major lowii influence----and when I put up pics of the flower, bet you will be able to either confirm or gainsay what I have come to so far!

I need henrys....now, no doubt.

Check out Paph Maime Wilson. It's a lowii hybrid and I love it!

I just divided the druryi. It was too big to put back in a regular pot. I will post pictures in a bit.

I relate to feeling at the mercy of something which starts taking over a given indoors growing area! Tho not with paphs.

Happened with an Onc sharry baby way back; I kept dividing and giving pots away, then the main one just went insane. I ended up sending the whole thing to the AOS. Of course, that was when they still had their splendid facility in Delray Beach, I knew it would be beyond thrilled to grow with the best care with infinite room in one of their greenhouses, and nobody there would find it terrifying.

Now, I am sorry I didn't keep a small division cause I miss it.

But re YOUR puppy, perhaps that it's called (well the cultivar I just saw) Paphiopedilum Robinianum 'Monster'......

Paphiopedilum Robinianum 'Monster' is not arbitrary.

Ramon used to keep all his plants at the same place I got my Robinianum, and it's likey they came from the same source (Tom Perlite/Golden Gate). Mine is very similar, though it doesn't carry the Monster name.

Last year there were two spikes for a total of 15 flowers!

I have a couple of them, but I am not drawn to them in general. I'm more of a species and primary kind of guy :-)
