That's so pretty. I would love one like that.
Just checked out Lehua because of this post. Do you know if they have a minimum order requirement?

I think it is a full box. That is probably around 20 plants?

Yeah, they sell one box, which is 30 plants, or there is an optional half box of 15 plants with $1.25 handling fees per plant. Still, they charge very low for plants.

Using their image for selling plants is probably fine because whether that person on ebay has purchased that hybrid directly or indirectly from Lehua, this hybrid is originally from Lehua anyways.

Nice color by the way!

My paphs all finished a big flush of blooming season in the spring and now there is another wave about to begin. yay!!!

Have you kept all 30? Did you pick or did you let them pick? I hope you get some really nice one out of 30 you bought.

I have a few cross from them and now two bloomed and a few more in bud now. The two that bloomed were not that good, but I hope at least one of these others will be something I like.

It's always hit or miss with these paph hybrids.

I just opened my box (of 120... )

Very nice plants. Downside is that they almost all are pre-bloomed. ie, screened. So don't expect to get the spectacular one out of the cross, he already has that one.

I'm of mixed feelings... The plants are very nice and quite inexpensive, so I'm not upset about that. And to get the best breeding stock you really need to see 1000 plants, so that makes sense. A good cross will have lots of winners and he can't keep all of them, so you can still get really good plants. But, I do kind of like the lottery aspect of growing out plants that have never bloomed.

I'll be seeing Graham tomorrow (he is in Michigan this weekend) and I plan on asking him how he screens plants. He mentioned in a talk that the plants that don't work out go to the big box stores, they don't care. But I don't know if that means there are two piles - big box store pile and orchid grower pile. I hope there are two piles, and not just one big pile of 'stuff I didn't want'.

120 ...

I usually only order 30 or so. I did all whites last time and did a spotted complex once and all multi floral and sequential...I could start over with yellow and greens or flamed vini's... I let him pick and I get 3 of a kind and 10 different kinds.

all pre bloomed mostly indeed. come with spikes or buds and many have multiple growths. It will be a year or 2 before you get to see some of the 3rd and 4th generations. They do improve over time. The most notable problem he will note is the mugged jaws on them. I get a lot of mugged pouches. This year is much better all nice mugs on them.

he grows nice masdys too for those of you who dare n can... mostly hybrids...

And yes I do have most of what I bought from him. They have taken over a year from the last bunch and the group before that are 2 years old twice bloomed and still quite small...wish you luck. I have lots of blue ribbons off grahams plants...I waiting for the one still..
