New Paph 'Pink Fred' (coch. cross)

Hello,

Just wanted to share that I picked up a new Paph. from the Chicago Orchid Exhibit. I was told it is a cross with Cochlopetalum:

Paph 'Pink Fred'
(FairFred x primulinum purpurescens)


You can see in the picture that it hasn't opened its bud yet and has two other buds developing. There are two fans and I can see a third just starting to come up on the other side. I can't wait to see it flower! I'll share when it does.

It took several days for the bloom to open fully but my 'Pink Fred' has bloomed as of yesterday. Keeping an eye on the smaller buds as they don't appear to look much different. But here's my little cutie!

Indeed I did put 'Pink Fred' as my avatar! Lol.

But I want to give you all a heads up that I will in the next day or so I think be posting a pic of Fred's second bloom! The third is still yet pretty small and there absolutely is a pea sized 4th next to it.

I only have one other Paph. and it's one bloom died within a couple of weeks of bringing it home. I'd say it was my first bite of the Orchid addiction bug, my first non-Phal. So Fred I got largely because it has multiple blooms on one spike, and I had no idea what the flowers would look like when I bought it. He he...

Yeah! 'Pink Fred' now has a second bloom! It's been open for a couple of days now.

So, I just have to ask those of you who have seen or have/had 'Pink Fred'. What's the most flowers you've had on one spike?

I've got three open right now, and a much smaller 4th bud is present with the teeniest of tiniest 5th buds chilling next to it. I'm so excited and curious...what's the record?
