Eggshells
How did you get a roth to bloom from only one or two fans???
Inquiring minds need to know.
Also, are you under lights. I'm just now getting into some paphs, and haven't followed a lot of threads here yet to know how you grow yours.
Reason being, I've got a St. Swithin that I fed too well, and has been divided (last winter [2012/2013]). So, he's on a similar diet to the K-lite thing, and lotsa light.
You have a great hand with paphs. Great growing, and thanks a million for posting so many for us to share.
Orchid forums are like my "other" orchid society.
Thanks again

Greetings Rex, Thank you. I purchased them as seedlings about 2-3 years ago. More often than not, the sign that they are going to bloom soon is that when the seedlings grow their second growths. Having said that, It is not always the case and they can bloom in single growths. I am not sure about the old type rothschildianum but new ones seems to be easy to bloom.
I do grow under T5HO lights 8/hrs a day. I dont use k-lite. I use 25-10-10 plant prod. 1/4 tsp/gal in the summer.
Minimum temp is 16c Highest temp is 30c. My highest RH is 50%. Worst in the winter but they get by.
I suggest to buy blooming size seedlings if you can.
The new growth is about a quarter of the size on the blooming growth so its in phase on blooming on 2016. They mature a growth in about 16-24 months. Some clones are fast though.

Thanks, Eggs, for taking the time to answer.
The parents to my particular St. Swithin is
Paph philippenense, var. roebelenii X
Paph rothschildianum 'Borneo' FCC
I like my St. Swithin when it blooms. It has the yellowish pouch that the roebelenii has.
Thanks again for your time and trouble.

No trouble at all. I can see now that the parent is Borneo. That one has reputation to be a pain to bloom. Newer crosses will be better and easier for sure.
