Green Complex in bloom and One Spotted
Default Green Complex in bloom and One Spotted

These are mostly modern hybrids involving Stone Lovely and some other varieties in the breeding background although a couple of them are cross between modern and old classic.
One of them is really green without too much yellow hue.

One Spotted complex has been open for about one week now and the shape has changed dramatically from its initial bloom two years ago. unfortunately for the worse. not sure if I want to toss now or wait another two years to how the third bloom turns out.

Do you get these as seedlings? I like the second and the forth best. Goodness you toss willy nilly, I am always just glad to get a bloom.

I also like the second one, but all these pictures came out yellower than they are, and the proportions of the pouch came out slightly weird. I don't know why.

The color of the second one must be seen in person. It is such a nice soft green. I just wish the dorsal opened up more, but it's been almost three weeks now and it will not happen. oh, well...It is a good grower and I will keep it for another season.

No, almost all of them are bought in bud and some are bought in bloom.
As commonly available these are around this time of the year here, and as much as I would like to know what the open bloom looks like, these get snatched up fast at stores that have these.
So I mostly just buy them in tight bud knowing that most will be crappy.

I would love to get flasks to increase my chance of getting more of decent ones, but I have not yet done it.
I am considering buying divisions of nice clones though. maybe one each year. They tend to be quite pricy.

The thing is sometimes the quality of flowers on these plants change quite a bit. so the ones I like now may bloom out crappy next year and the ones I don't like so much might improve in the future.

The spotted one is a bad example. It was so much better. and I have one that blooms different every time and I have no idea what to do with it.

So it is making it rather difficult to decide which ones to toss now.

But how do you just toss them when there healthy and all? I don't think I could do it.
