Paph. (Pandemonium 'Shockwave' x Thunder Mountain) spiking!
Default Paph. (Pandemonium 'Shockwave' x Thunder Mountain) spiking!

I bought this plant in bloom as a single growth about two years ago.
I still didn't like the spotted flowers at the time and definitely not "bull dogs".

Well, when I saw this one at the store, the large and glossy bloomed somehow appealed to me and it came home with me.

It grew alright but did not bloom this past winter.
I was wondering if it needed some cold nights as I read about it in quite few places.

Well, I just kept it in the same spot, near the sunny window (but shaded good portion of the day by taller plants) hoping for it to bloom.
Well, in the late summer, I saw one sheath that sit there forever!
Then I saw another sheath coming along. What a reward!!
There are total four growths now.

This is how it looks now.

I normally do not stake paphs, but the spike on this one was growing downward, so I had to "correct" it.

I am excited!!! good thing I didn't dump it!

Thanks, everyone!

I'm quite curious about this second bloom because some paphs I have bloomed quite differently the second time around.

Will see.
