I have a few of these and they are so pretty!!!
By the way, was the first bloom "normal" or did it show any signs of "defect" at all?
The reason I'm asking is because I had one vini that never quite bloomed "normal". some blooms were better (or worse) than others, but always some kind of deformaties in shape.
Other than that particular one, most paphs bloomed the same way each time, and some bloomed with better or worse in quality but without the deformaties.
I think it could be the random thing, or unfortunately the issues lying deep in the genetic make up.
Oh, and another deformity I see in a couple of really dark vini I have is that the flowers will open with a very narrow white streak in the midst of very dark wine color.
I want to just cover up with a nail polish sometimes. lol

I don't know much about what type it is , but here is the name ...fowliei alba x hennisianum alba. The first bloom it had, was perfect. No abnormalitys at all. Thought I had a pic somewhere of the very first bloom, a couple years ago . I'll look in my archives
