Paph. Pepe 'Mendenhall' X Paph. Newberry Halo '#1'
I got this plant in a mix and match 5 pack from Carter and Holmes about a year and a half ago. This is its first bloom and it has inspired me to get a few more complex paphs to add to my collection. Its been open for a while and I'm wondering if it'll flatten out more, but maybe some of these complex paphs stay somewhat curved in.
It also seems to have a second bud developing. Does anyone know if this is common with complex paphs? As a first blooming plant, should I let this bud develop or just enjoy the first bloom and cut the spike after letting it grow after that. It has one other growth started.
The lip isnt perfect but I really like this flower!

I have a few paphs that look similar and show the same behavior. The plant might be mixed with paph primulinum. You can cut it off, or let it develop - up to you! If you haven't seen it do it before, I suggest you just let it do what it wants. Next time around you can always do something different.

I normally don't like complex hybrid Paphs, but this is a very nice looking flower. Congrats!

Thats a gorgeous colour and I think its curved in form does not damage the presentation too much. Congrats.
