Default Paph. boring brown villosum

This plant was bought as a Paph. henryanum... Turned out to be a villosum after all, and a bloody boring one at that.

I couldn't capture the colour properly but it's BROWN. A reddish brown... Not as bad as I thought it would be when it opened and it was a greyish brown instead. I'm no fan of villosums (I think they're pretty boring, especially this variety), but I've somehow ended up with three of them.

I haven't decided what to do with this one, keep it or get rid of it... I just don't know... It's a space hugger and not a Paph species that I'm that thrilled about.

I really like it.

I can understand your disappointment though if you have ended up with three villosum that you didn't want in the first place.

I just wish I could get my Vill-exhul a primary hybrid of this to flower again. Growth yes but no flowers in the last couple of years. Oh well

Thanks for the nice comments guys! This villosum is moving next Monday, so I'm happy it'll get a home where it'll be appreciated.

Maybe give it some colder temperatures? If you're a windowsill grower that is.

Thanks, yes it's on the windowsill. My other paphs don't need a cold drop to flower but maybe this one does. I'll try it in my cooler room for a bit. You never know, maybe last time it flowered for me was when the heating failed in winter a couple of years ago (it didn't go massively cold but dropped quite a bit), I didn't think to take note of when that happened compared to what the plants were doing soon after, maybe I should have.
