Default my new paph I received 3.25 ebay!!

Okay even though there were pictures of the actual plant on ebay I was like yeah it will not be near this big...Yep folks I was officially wrong. It is on the large side and much bigger and healthier then my godefroyea which i payed around 10x's more for....

I have found one thing interesting though, it seems to have several new roots coming in but only has 2 large brown fuzzy roots on it that seem to hold it up just like my godefroyea is this normal for these types of plants?

In the picture is a side by side comparison of my two paphs that I have (thus far). The one on the left is my new (large) baby

Paph roots grow differently than some other orchids. As new 'fans' are put out, those grow fresh roots. As the older ones die out, so do the roots that supported them. This is REALLY an over-generalization, and some types of paphs do this a bit differently among themselves -

What I'm saying though is what you are seeing is indeed normal, for a plant that size and (age).

This is one of the main reasons paph's like to be re-potted every year, even when they are in something that will last much longer, like Orchiata. It's not always that the media itself is too broken down - it's sometimes to clear out the old and make room for the new.

o gosh I have been so worried because they are slightly wobbly looking and acting. That is very good info now I am not so flipped out. This is in light orchid moss with styrofoam peanuts in the bottom for extra air..This is the one that I got the "ANT ATTACK" from lol, so he will most likely be moved to more bark like he was in once I have deduced all the little buggers are gone.
