curious picture
Today I went to my greenhouse and took a curious snapshot of one of my plants of Paphiopedilum gratrixianum.
In the same plant you can see three different stages of flowers opening....

Are you trying to make me jealous here in Nebraska? If I want species anything, I have to order it, not many papas here either. There's probably like 20 for sale in the entire state.

Definitely the most successful flask I have ever bought. The flask had 25/30 seedlings that are survived 95%.
Now the main part of them are in bloom/bloomed and only few aren't ready to flower.
Soon I will take a picture for the complete collection. Great dedication, but also great satisfaction!!

I love how that picture shows the three flowers in different (but sequential) stages, as if it was time elapsed shots of the same flower going from a bud that just begins to open to a fully open flower.

Paphs are widely available here depending on the season. Almost always hybrids of some sort.
It was the first time I saw species paphs being sold. lol
