I find my paphs always get their root tips rotten or dry dead at the bottom of the pot, so I tend to find something really deep.
A little frustrating sometimes because I prefer to have shorter (shallower) pots.

Yeah, please post pictures of the vinis when they open up.
How is your other vini with its spike?
Many of mine have opened up. Most are ugly as is the case most of the time, but I have some that I like. Two dark fairi madue came out quite nice.

I still have two more vinis to open.
then some coloratum types as well, which I'm not having much hope, but maybe nice surprise there. who knows?

That other plant is coming along! Both spikes are growing. I think it didn't get enough attention before I got it. I soaked it for quite a while, and I think that triggered it. Some of the plants I got this year were either too wet or too dry when I got them.

I think the air flow on this pot helps the spice. I am using that kind on a couple plants, and moved many of the others into Aircone pots this year. We will see how it goes!
