Amazing color and form. The spike is shorter because the plant was able to provide it with enough energy to open its bloom at that point. The important thing is the vivid colors this time and the robust form. On the next blooming cycle you might get a bigger flower.
Thanks for the explanation Bud. Now I won't worry about it any more. The colours are maybe not quite as vivid but it is a close match. My camera is a cheap thing that sometimes is faithful to the subject matter but on this occasion it enhanced a little.

Looking at your pictures makes me want to get this hybrid again.
I had a large specimen, but gave it away for Christmas gift.
Mine had basically the same flowers, except the color tone was overall greener than yours.
I like the strong sukhakulii influence of this cross and much improved high gloss texture.
