I got this plant with three spikes on five growths last September. It lasted for over three months in bloom and then one more spike grew and bloomed in January this year.

It soon started a few new fans but some of them had these brown spots/rot that were spreading fast. I trimmed off the affected leaves/fans and then sprayed with whatever chemical I could find at HD, sprayed the entire plant.

Well, the brown spots/rot seemed to stop after I sprayed, but the condition of the plant got worse and worse while continuing on with two new fans.

I knew I had to repot it last year because the bark mix was too old that every time I watered the plant, the running water was rust color. well, I never did. how lazy!

Finally, the plant looked so bad that I had to either chuck it or see what was going on if I were to keep it. so I took it out of its pot, found a big mess of dead roots and some live roots (thank goodness!). I cut off all the dead roots and dipped the whole thing in hydrogen peroxide. The plant naturally came off in two parts (one of them is much smaller with only two growths) so I potted each up separately.

The good news is that with so many roots lost, the plant was pushing out a few new roots at the base of a few fans as well as tiny new growths starting here and there.
This is one tough plant!

I am glad I repotted it. I love this plant in bloom. This is my favorite of the three I have bought in the past years.

I like the contrast between the white and the green. I can see why you like it. Good save.

Thank you, Bill.

Yeah, everyone has a preference, but I like this one a lot. The others I had in the past had les green but more copper, brownish hue and the dorsal rolled back and outward a bit too much for me.

They were all very vigorous grower though.

Oh, and I really wish the leaves were shorter, but I trimmed them off on this plant. lol
