What is happening to my Paphs.?
My Paphs. have me worried! Paph. Gina Short is the only one not affected. The rest are getting one or two yellow leaves, which are then turning brown. The browning leaves are on previously bloomed fans, except for wardii. Paph. wardii only has one fan, is presently in spike and it will be a first bloom. Hopefully someone can tell me what's going on by looking at the pictures.
Paph. wardii
Paph. Pinocchio
Paph. fairrieanum
Paph. Hellyer 'Green Mint'
Geez, I messed up. Sorry!

For all of these, is it the lowest leaf on each?

I double checked, yes it is the lowest leaf on all.

It's growing season, so, they might just be growing and putting energy into other parts of the plant.
It's normal for Paph's to shed bottom leaves, and eventually, old fans as new ones take over. In this case, the 'brown' usually starts at the leaf tip and works it's way up. Brown/yellow, that is. Could this be what's happening?

Yes, it started at the leaf tip. I hope it is just the normal shedding of leaves. Btw. I didn't know Paphs. will do that too, I know Phals. do. Pheww, I can calm down now. lol I will keep an eagle eye on them though! Thank you for the help and info.

You are welcome! If you have new growth on the plants, you could consider it a good sign - it's putting the energy in better places! Paph's are great plants, in my opinion. Enjoy.

I had a similar problem, which was not spreading so it was not a fungus and King of Orchid recommended adding dolomite to my mix. Voila! Much much better.

Good suggestion. Dolomite or any source of calcium will help the plant build stronger cell walls that are more resistant to fungus and rot.

I am using Ray's K-Lite and it has 10% Calcium in it. I will now go in search of Dolomite. Amazing, the things we are willing to do, just to keep Orchids happy. I hope my slippers will be grateful and thank me with blooms. lol

This is nothing to be alarmed about. It is a natural aging/discarding of an old leaf.
