Default Should I or should I not repot?

I have a Makuli-Curtisii)-Maudiae x Phah. Maudiae ‘Napa Valley‘ HCC/AOS X SIB that is in a 1 inch pot and I just need to find out if I should put it in a bigger pot? Here are some pics of the root system. Also what type of potting medium should I use?

Thanks for any and all info

Paph's usually like to have a re-pot every year. Those are some nice healthy roots, and a lot of them for such a small area. You might do well to put it in something larger - but not too large!

And that looks like Sphag moss that it's in right now. You can get some fresh stuff of that, or use a bark mix. I'm not sure where you are, or what's available to you, so it's hard to say. You can order many things online now, of course.

Sure. The peanuts were used to fill up space in the pot and allow what roots were there to breathe. You might need to use some again on the next pot up.

I would use moss since you are in a dry climate.
I have bought so many seedlings of this same cross. tossed most of them but did keep two I liked the most.

If you could find something deep (tall pot) and maybe next size or even bigger pot, say 3.5 or 4.

Many paphs grow crazy roots and yours definitely looks like one of those. so larger pot will be great for its roots.

Happy repotting!

I have this one. Mine has bloomed in the past but then I didn't re-pot it and it wasn't doing so well. I re-potted on 3/1/13 and it started growing a new leaf it is very slow and I'm not sure it is doing very well.

I read somewhere on here they might like dolomite lime so I put a little in the pot, didn't know how much to use so I didn't put much in. I don't know if it will go but I just put mine back in the same pot it was in a 2 inch pot tall. It was in a cute little metal Chinese looking pot but I was afraid it wasn't getting enough air so I took it out.

I'll probably kill the poor thing.

Thanks jlynn I hope it will also. It's being very slow when I first re-potted it it grew a new little leaf now it is setting there and has lost a couple of bottom leaves.
