It's leaf again!
Default It's leaf again!

This is one stubborn paph that is almost hitting two year mark since it last flowered.
I got a bunch of seedlings of the same cross (Napa Valley and Maukuli to be brief) and kept only three that I liked.
All three are alba, but different patterns on the leaves, different flower shape and growth habits.

One of its sibling also took a while (over a year) to rebloom, which was earlier this year around February.
That guy is getting ready to bloom again, so it is nice.

This particular one, my favorite as far as flower shape is concerned, has been just growing and growing.
I see yet another leaf, which is No.9, developing.
I am so wanting to see the shape again, whether it will be the same or different, for better or worse.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

some Paphs grown in less than optimum conditions will have to produce multiple growths before flowering, and a few species tend to impart a "clumping of growths" prior to flowering trait.

I guess I have to wait and see then.
These maudiae type paphs have so far been fairly frequent bloomers, so that is why I am a bit worried.

It is funny how some of my supposedly clump forming paphs flower as small seedlings then they grow and grow until flowering again.
Maybe that's the pattern.

I have one like that. Plenty of growth, but recent checks showed that what's starting in the middle is another leaf (flat when gently squeezed) rather than a bud. It bloomed with just one fan in the past, but is now clumping up and growing and growing but no flowers for a few years.
