Default Paph. purpuratum

Not quite fully opened yet, but it looks so nice now and later too, when the dorsal have reflexed more.

I'll update this thread in about a week, when the flower is fully opened. Oh, and no special treatment for this guy; I grow on the windowsill without any colder and dryer period, but it doesn't seem to need it.

The flower:

I'm not crazy about maudiae types or sigmatopetalums, but I love this one!

Thanks for all the nice comments! It has opened completely now, and lost some of its shape, but it was only to be expected. I also realized that it was too bright in the earlier pictures, so I tried to fix that in these new photos taken today:

I love the pouch so much, so I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing the nice shape of it. Last year, it had some extra tissue on the pouch, so it was slightly misshapen, which bothered me to no end, so this was a very nice surprise.

Finally open!

It looks nice! I like it better before the dorsal curling backward.
Yes, the pouch is nice as well. My kinda pouch I should say. I do not like it when the pouch is really long but this kind of shape looks very balanced.

I also like the white pot.
