Dang! I should've gone with my gut feeling about Dafi! I asked about it on the Swedish orchid forum, but no one thought they added anything to the water (I asked if the filters added anything harmful). Maybe that's what's happened? My Phrags have liked this water though, so maybe the filters didn't add too much toxins...I hope.

The opinions seem to differ on ST, too much light + bad roots, or urea/ammonia deficiency, or Mg deficiency. Some of the Paphs didn't have any good roots, some did, so it's not easy to conclude what could've caused it. Many seem to root for a urea based fertilizer though and that the plants lack in N.

The K-lite formula is for RO water.

Well, if your Phrags liked it, that can't be a problem. Phrags hate salt (apparently) and are more sensitive to it than Paphs (or at least, that's what the majority of both groups go with. Some plants just like to be difficult, I think).

Whatever happened to nitrate/ammonium being better than urea for orchids N requirements?
