Worried about my new Paph. Male
Default Worried about my new Paph.

My new paph PEOY, which I purchased pnline from Piping Rock Orchids, had very bright green, almost yellowish leaves when i came in the mail. Assuming this was from lots of light, I moved it to a lower light area and the leaf color seems to have returned to a light green color. However, today while watering I noticed some dents in the leaves - small little dents scatter on a few of the leaves. I also noticed some white dust - like stuff, which I just assumed was dust that collected on the leaves. But could these be pests or a disease?

Light, bright green is good. I was once told the dents are cell collapse caused by the leaf not being able to get enough water. The tricky part is figuring out why.
Not watering enough? Not enough root mass to support leaf growth? Leaves just growing too fast?
I have about 15 strap leaf paphs and every one thats over 3 years old has some dents like you are seeing on the leaves. As long as you know your roots are good and you are watering enough I don't think you really have to worry.
