Default Paph. Pinocchio

I already shared a photo of this plant soon after purchasing it back in January. I was surprised to see it hang on to the first bloom when the second one opened, so I though it deserved another photo! The first bloom is still so fresh that you can't tell which is which just by looking at the bloom itself.

That's a spectacular photograph! Very nice lighting and colors. I have one of these but your's has much richer colors than mine does. Mine was in bloom most of last year but I'm going to keep my eye out for one with nice colors like yours. Good good growing and photography.

Thanks!

The colors in the photo are a bit warmer than in reality. The plant was getting daylight from the left, and the last soft rays of the setting sun from the right which give warmer color tones.

Another thing is that there is a debate as to whether this 'color form' of Pinocchio (spotting on pouch and white margin on dorsal) is the true Pinocchio, or if it's actually the very similar looking species, Paph liemianum (or its hybrid, Paph Salvador Dali). Whatever mine may be, the colors of this type are often richer than the Paph Pinocchio 'form' where no ID confusion is possible (without the white rim on dorsal). So if you're on the lookout for another plant, keep an eye out for liemianum or Salvador Dali as well.

Since it can go either way name wise, I'm sticking to the name on the label for now.

Very nice! The dorsal is wonderful with the white outlining.
