potting ? about Paph. Hsinying Rubyweb

This is my first paph and I am looking for some help. This lovely gem was a Christmas gift. Its flower is just now fading-should I snip off the flower or the stem or should I wait for the stem to die back?
I also want to repot it. It came in a glazed pot and I'd like to move it to a smaller plastic pot (it looks overpotted to me). I only have 2 finer size mixes on hand dendrobium mix or oncidium mix-would either be ok?
dendrobium Mix :
•Small Orchiata™ Monterey Bark
•Medium Orchiata™ Monterey Bark
•Small Lava Rock
•Medium Sponge Rock
•Small Cork Nuggets
•Small Granite Chips
or oncidium mix:
•Small Orchiata™ Monterey Bark
•Turface
•Hydro LECA
•Rice Hulls
•Small Cork Nuggets
I have been trying to read up on paphs. Since it is my first, I obviously have quite a bit to learn .

Out of those two mixes, I would go for the Oncidium mix. At the greenhouse for paphs we use Small bark with small perlite and small charcoal. The Oncidium mix seems like it might dry a bit quick, but I don't know what your conditions are. You can always water more frequently though! Good luck!

I think either would be acceptable, just adjust your watering to maintain even moisture. Your instincts toward a smallish pot are good. I strongly recommend that Paphs be repotted at least once a year, so room for just one more mature growth is enough. Give it 3-6 months in the new mix, and if for some reason you aren't satisfied with the mix (or your Paph isn't) you can always repot again.
