This is one of the two Paph. In Charm white and Greenery In Charm cross.
It last bloomed with flowers. The first picture shows a spent spike from last season. The green part, which I don't know the name for, is still, well, green.
The new fan is sending up a spike at the moment. What looked to me last week like a "low sheath" that surrounds the emerging spike is actually the same green part left on the old spike in the first picture.
I don't think the picture shows that clearly, but I peeked into the center of the plant and could see that the spike was not emerging from the center of this green part, but this green part is the top end portion of the spike. Also, this green part is slightly cracked open and you can see in the picture that there is another one of this in it.
So I expect to see this plant flowers the way it did the last time. I'm pretty excited!
Waiting begins although it's probably best to just forget about it for a while, but I just can't help not to see it again and again everyday.
I'm going to have two flowers again!
