That is beautiful. The petals are really growing fast.

What is that growing in? It looks like a glass container. Whatever it is it looks great.

It is a plastic container I got at a garage sale. There were three in different, nested sizes. Each had a lid for storage. The lids lasted about 30 seconds when I got home and out came the drill to make it semi hydro.

Garage sales are wonderful!!!!

I like this look much better than the deli container style, much more elegant and appropriate for this plant. Only one leaf tip burned by a light tube to detract.

I like your pot. Can you tell us a bit about it.
Also, it took a long time from sheath to bloom, one month. Wow! I would have run out of patience and tried to stretch it with my fingers to make it grow faster,

Oh, never mind, Grandma beat me to the question. I agree, it is so much more elegant!

Wow, great growing! The bud certainly grew fast. My paph. "Black Buddha" started in August and only opened this month! Was worth the wait.

In my experience paph flowers tend to go 90 degrees to the fans. Not always, but often enough that I try to remember to place the holes so they are at the leaf tips, at least when potted. With larger multi growth plants this will not be possible.

So, to answer your question, the holes are to the left and on the back side of the pot in that picture.

I have one question. Looking at the first pic in this thread, I cannot for the life of me figure out how you knew that that new growth was a sheath rather than just another leaf. How could you tell the difference?
