A New Complex Paph!
Default A new picture in the daylight

The second bud is growing nicely, but looks like it has no space to grow blocked by one leaf. hmmm

The second spike is also with two buds. I'm so excited about having four flowers on one plant. yay!!!!

Wow! Does this happen to most paphs? Or is it something you're doing that your lovely paph likes?

You mean the double buds per spike?
I'm not sure if it's in the breeding background or more of a environmental thing, but it has happened on maudiea (alba, vini, and coloratum) types and white complex that bloomed last year. Those same plants did not make double buds again this year.

From pictures I've seen online, some parvis also make double buds, so I don't think it's something that is specific to a certain variety.
I guess it's something that's triggered by environmental cues or just random stuff that kicks in for some reason every now and then. could be wrong.

I just water them and feed them when I remember. bright light. that's about it. they do the rest.

Oh, I also talk to them to do well or they're out.

I've never seen multiple blooms, except by those posted by OB members. You're definitely doing things right!
Well, I talk to my orchids too! But I just tell them that I love them, never that I'll throw them out! And, of course a hundred sorrys if I happen to get their spike tangled with that of another!
But thanks, I guess I have a streak of madness because of my addiction!

Multiple blooms mostly come with age. but then this also has to do with what paph is it.
Some grow to a specimen size a lot faster than others while some never really reach specimen size because they only grow one new lead at a time and their older growths die out quickly.

Then there is individual plant vigor within the same clone.

Of course good culture also helps I think. especially good watering. As there is consistent water supply to the plant, it will grow and branch better.

Yes, some paphs will branch like crazy sending new shoots all over the place.
