First Paph

I got this little guy from orchidbabies.com. Their going out of business and have great deals. I hope to get a couple more for Christmas. Anywho! Pictured below is Bermuda. He's a Pah charlesworthii x [Paph. Red Sky x Paph. Flame Arrow].

She said there's going to be red in it, which is exactly what I was looking for. I'm so excited to see this flower!

This weekend I'm going to re-pot him. My clear pot may be too bit, I think I'm going to have to get an orchid basket.

a nice start, repot is good but use the same size pot, paphs like to be tight. Also this will keep you from overwatering which is what most paphs die from. I repot to the same pot usually two years before stepping up to the next size. then only going
one pot size. If things go well you soon have a bunch.

They are a favorite of mine because the bloom lasts so long.

Thanks Carol! I am a little turned off by the pot it's in, I like to see roots. But I can leave it for a while if that would be best. It's smaller than my Phal, so I don't have anything it'll fit in yet.

Go ahread a repot just use the same size pot, it won't need a bigger pot for a year or so.
