The standing up parts in Eddie's is stolon/rhizome (I'm not sure which is correct in paph), which is different from NYCorchidman's internodes. I didn't know P. sangii makes a long stolon/rhizome.

It is odd! Yours looks like it stood up above the ground and resume the normal growth.
Mine shows internodes between leaves.
Never had any roots on what you can see but connected to roots in the substrate.

that is really interesting.
You might want to put some moss wrapped around the base of the stood up portion to encourage better root development. then maybe cut it as a seperate plant or leave it.

Phrags do this too, drives me kinda crazy.
Personally I would cut the cord, pot it back up in the same pot. The growth is healthy nice plant.

NYCorchidman, that paph with growths standing up might be normal. I have a Paph. Magical Venus and when the growths are first produced and through
out flowering the growths stand up. After the growth is done blooming and a new growth is ready to bloom, the previously bloomed growth starts to flatten out. I hope this wasn't too confusing.

I don't understand what you mean by flatten out. Did you mean bend down??
Maybe I should upload a better picture, but it's not just leaves standing up. The growth is showing a stalk and the whole thing is way above the mix.

This particular paph, all the leaves are pointin upward in some fashion. While most of the growths are flat like staying close to the mix, some of them are standing up showing internodes and all like literaly corn maze!
The top portion is getting narrow and narrow and I don't see if there's a possibility of flower on these growths. they just look so small on top to support anything.
