A book I have says it appears to be a hybrid. Unfortunately it doesn't say of what!

Ah, interesting. I knew sometimes it was alba and sometimes album but didn't know the pattern.

I have Den kingianum var Album and I've often seen people refer to it as var Alba but I guess my tag is right for a DendrobiUM in that case.
