About a month ago I went to an orchid auction put on by the local orchid club. I had a wonderful time and ended up with 3 new orchids. This was one of the orchids I bought. I hadn't intended to get a Paph but someone mentioned "good for beginners" and before I knew it, I was bidding on it. It had a spike on it when I got it and the flower just opened up a couple of days ago.

The photo doesn't do it justice. The pouch actually sparkles like it has glitter on it when the light hits it.

paphs are rewarding, the bloom can last up to two months or better. This is a pretty one, enjoy!

That is a gorgeous flower. I can understand what you mean by the shimmering pouch....
I love the striped hairy fringe of the petals

Thanks everyone! I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this but I like the flowers on this one.

dounoharm: LOL! I ended up with two paphs that night. The nice thing about paphs is that I like the foliage even when they're not blooming.

Bud: Thanks! I think the hairy fringe is cool too.
