Hello,

This morning I bought new plant at the local orchid show.
It's a Paphiopedilum Booth's Saint Adductum (Saint Swithin x Adductum black).

Does anyone knows anything about this one as I didn't have chance to talk to the grower about it (he was to busy). I have seen photo of similar one in bloom. On the description sheet said it's multi floral.

Thanks for any info on this plant. How long it will take for this one to flower (the leaves are 6-7 inch long). The plant is in 3" pot with some sponge rocks on the bottom, layer of bark in the middle, and mix of moss and bark on top.

I would think you're about 2 years or so to blooming size. It will start to think about blooming when it starts a second growth. Here's a link to Orchidweb's care of Saint Swithin:

Bill is probably right. All 3 species tend to be pretty big.

I'll add that the plant is likely a hot grower, so it should be allowed to see nighttime temps no lower than around 20°C in order to maintain steady growth.

Thanks Ray,

I think you are right. The instruction sheet, although in very general terms, states that daily temperature should be 75-80 degrees F and nightly 60-65 F. But also said that the plant will grow nicely even if the temperature is kept at the same level.
