I am thinking about getting a bulldog paph. I have a few questions about bulldog paphs.

I grow under fluorescent lights and have a Paph. delenatii and Paph. Magical Venus. Can bulldog paphs be grown under fluorescent lights?

I have limited space, how big is a mature single growth plant?

I would like a yellow blooming bulldog paph that has large flowers and is fairly easy to bloom. Any recommendations? Thanks.

I have noticed that weekends are the most active for a lot of knowledgable people. I'm sure someone will reply either tonight or tomorrow.

I think any bulldog will do well under lights. They aren't as small as some of the parvis but not as big as the large multi-florals. I'd say they are intermediate in size.

Woodstream has a nice selection. Scroll down to the yellow/green expectency. Woodstream Orchids Piping Rock also has excellent stock. There are no pictures so you'll have to use your imagination. Paphiopedilum - Modern Complex Type Breeding A friend of mine purchased one of Piping Rock's complex Paphs last year and he got an AOS award on it's first blooming.

If you are looking for a bargain, I have several near-to-blooming bulldogs available. They are probably in the next-growth-will-bloom, or as-the-current-one-matures stage, as about half have bloomed already.

If you're looking for a big yellow, on a moderate-sized plant, I have several of those currently in-bloom, too.

I also recommend Hillsview Orchids.

Ok, thanks everyone. I think I'll wait until the March orchid show before I buy anything online just in case I see a bulldog paph that I like there...

One more question: What temperature do they like to grow at? I can control the temperature a little. At night there are two spots. One that is around 60F and one that is around 65F. In the day I have 3 temperature spots: 75F, 80F, and 85F.

Ray, thanks for the heads up on Hillsview. I've lived in Oregon for 21 years and never knew they were here. There may be a trip to Portland in my future!

I looked at Hillsview Orchids website and I saw some amazing paphs. If I don't find something at the show I'll definitely look there again.

Ray and orchids.com also had some nice complex paphs. Has anyone ever ordered from orchids.com?
