Good luck! Spikes develop slowly, but you'll see when that happens, and even more exciting!

I have a paphiopedilum hsinying hybrid that I was keeping near a shaded south window (I don't have any east windows). The light there was low, under 1000 foot candles even during the middle of the day. Today I moved it about 2 ft. from a south window with a sheer curtain. The light there is around 1500 foot candles. Do you think this is too much light? Or maybe I should gradually adjust it? I've had it for about a month at the other window.
