Yet another new paph...
Default Yet another new paph...

I got three green complex type paphs last month. Well, two of them turned yellow over time and the last one is showing some yellow as well.

I visited the flower market this morning and one store had lots of yellow and green complex paphs. The sad part was that all the nicely shaped and large flowers were all group-planted in big decorative contatiners. They had their name tag taken out as well. not to mention, super expensive for me!

Of the individual pots left behind on the floor (mostly beat up and slightly deformed), I did find one green complex paph that I liked and brought it home.
Its flower is not as large as the typical of the complex paphs, but it is crisp and clean and big enough for me. The best part is that it is green!
oh, the name is quite long, [Elfstone x henryanum] x [ Lavendaer Lovely x P.Shamrock] is what the tag says.
Now, the only thing I'm not familiar with is henryanum. I just looked it up and it has lots of dots on the dorsal.

Who would have guessed it was one in the breeding background for this green beauty!

As a bonus, this plant has two new growths starting! yay!!!!

It is on the far right in the second picture.

You're welcome! Flowers do brighten up my day!
I have my north window open all the time and the east window covered with blinds most of the time.

I know that feeling of seeing an orchid that you want stuck in some super expensive decorative set up.... Can't believe that you find so many named orchids! And gorgeous too.

The henryanum was probably bred in to reduce the size of the plant. That is also why the flower is smaller than your other complex Paphs.

Thank you, Camllie.

quiltergal- It is very interesting how the henryanum influence the size of the plant without giving any spots to the flower itself. Thanks for the info!
The plant is smaller than all the other complex paphs I have, which I like. the smaller, the better for me.

I can help simplify you tag a bit:

Elfstone x henryanum was registered as Paph Rainbow Sky

Thanks, everyone,

Ray- Thank you for the info. I just googled up that name and I got quite a few different looks under that name, including pure apple green just like mine. What a name!
