Yes, I go there every week. 28th street between 7th and 6th avenue. I live not too far away.

Thanks, Dave.
Yeah, I like the green and white combo in paphs, although I'm beginning to get out of my comfort zone a little.

Default an update...

Today I noticed that the older bloom is turning yellow. It was already in bloom when I bought it the first week of January, so I guess it's about time. The other one is still green, so they look like two different flowers. I kinda like the contrast of one yellow and one green of the same shape.

Over time, both sides of the dorsal petal slightly fold outward giving the look I like!

I got quite a few paphiopedilums from this store called Whole Flower or Whole Sale flowers, Inc. It is on the north side of 28th street flower district between 6th and 7th avenue. The store is closer to the 6th avenue. It is right next to a store that sells horticulural supply goods and cutflowers. This store where I bought this paph look like a cut flower store as well, and it is in fact their main focus, but when you walk inside, there's a small orchid section, mostly phals and oncidium intergenerics and some paphs (usually a common maudiae types, but he brings in lots of interesting hybrids. you just have to get lucky to get them before being all sold out. )

The store owner is very kind and he will tell you when his next nursery visit will be. then you just show up early morning after his nursery visit day to be one of the first to see some interesting nice paphs.
Unfortunately, I have a busy work schedule which do not allow me that privillage anymore.
Then again, I have quite a few plants now and I'm out of space as well. lol

LOL, LOL, I hear ya......I ran out of space too !

I went to Trader Joe's and you would not believe what followed ME home !!!

I ended up with a gorgeous Zygopetalum in bloom and a Colmanara in bloom....

This time of year is when I begin to "clean house" and discard those Paphs which have not done well over the Winter and most likely will not bloom this Spring.....so I cleared up some space for these two huge plants!! LOL.

But thank you for the info on the Store in NYC....I will make a point of checking it out!
