Interesting Paph cross
I bought this Paph cross (Paph Valwin X Paph moquetteanum) last year because I couldn't imagine why anyone would cross a "Bulldog" Paph with Paph moquettianum and was curious to see the flower.
Although the flower is interesting and I love the earth tone colors, I can't really say that it is an improvement over either parent

It certainly has more character than the "Bulldog" parent. I think they are hideous, and I like this, especially the colors.

I like bulldogs, however I can really see how this is more delicate and more refined while still maintaining some of the colouring of a bulldog in a less 'vulgar' way.
I think that's one reason I like my Paphiopedilum Vill-exul. It has a delicate version of the bulldog type colouring and is also a much smaller more delicate flower.
However I still like the 'vulgar', bold, brash look of the bulldogs (and I'm really excited for my NoID one due to open soon). It would be boring if we all like the same thing wouldn't it
