My Magic Lantern
Paph Magic Lantern is a primary cross between delenatii and micranthum. Usually this cross inherits the inflated micranthum pouch , while the delenatii increases petal size and flower roundness.
I bought this one last year as a blooming size plant but it seemed to want to grow a new set of leaves before blooming, only one old leaf is left. The bloom is still cupped. I hope it will still open wide and flat. It's one of my lovelier paphs I've bloomed so far regardless of how the bloom will continue to develop. The days have been quite hot during the bud development (I read perhaps they bloom better when it is cooler). I'm glad the bud didn't blast during the vaccation, I was worried.

Very nice--and the flower looks huge for the size of the plant. Does the spike need to be staked, or is it strong enough to support the flower on its own?

Beautiful Fren. Magic Lantern is one of my favorites. If I can keep my delenatii alive and get it to bloom I'm buying myself a Magic Lantern.

I have had my Delenatil x sib for almost 4 years, keeping it alive was not the hard part, getting it to rebloom was ,the following picture was taken this year, only the second time I have been able to get it to bloom.
I think they are sensitive to the amount of light they receive,it used to get a lot of bright light in my green house and did not bloom but when I move it to a shadey place I was finally awarded with this bloom.

Oooh! I hope mine is that pretty when it blooms. I'm growing mine indoors with my Phals. The Phals are doing great and have bloomed faithfully every year so I'm hoping it likes similar conditions. I've read that it likes it a tad bit brighter light than Phals so I've moved it to the front where it gets just a little more.

Looks like a healthy plant you have there. I am also hoping mine will grow and rebloom well. Sometimes these parvi paphs can seem to be slow, but at least their leaves look nice....
