Three Cheers for Mr. Koopowitz
This is my first Koopowitz paph - and I didn't kill it before it could flower! Woohoo.
I love the pouch on this one... it's such an odd shape compared to my other paphs. Sorry for the poor photos - I tried to snap a few camera shots on my way out of the house so that I could share. The third pic is supposed to show the flower in relation to the leaves (which have that great paph patterning), but the leaves are kind of dark and hard to make out.
Hope you like it.

Lovely Lynleigh Koopowitz! I just picked one of these up for $2 from a society member who is closing down her greenhouse. It looks a little tough but I have no doubt it will bounce back well. Since I repotted it's already growing new roots.

Thanks!
The Mr. Koopowitz gave a presentation at my local OS meeting in May (MOS!) - I wanted to bring this little guy in to the judging table, but, it wasn't open yet. He gave an amazing presentation, by the way - he's a really interesting character and a real zealous embassador for mini paphs. He makes orchid breeding sound so darned interesting!

Isn't it great when you can meet 'the people' behind the name? I've just found somewhere in Europe I can get this little guy (as well as a couple of others I'd like), so it may be coming my way at some point this year

Excellent! You will love it. I'm on the hunt for a little mini that he's made that has charlesworthii in it - the name escapes me at the moment, but it's this little yellow and white jem - and it really is tiny. I'll hunt down a pic and post it a little later on. In any event, I highly recommend these minis, they're really something.
