how to water paph in CHC?

I mix 4 parts CHC with 1 part perlite, and 1 part charcoal. Mine are potted in clear plastic with lots of slits in the sides and great bottom drainage too. They dry out pretty quickly.

I have them in ceramic pots that are glazed, so it is probably not as porous (did I spell it right?) as clay. They are draining well as there is a huge hole at the bottom and I also put layer of chunks of styrofoam under chc. They might be overpotted, they came bareroot and those were the smallest pots I had, so it might take more time to dry.
I will continue to watch that skewer.
Meanwhile I ordered more paphs and some clear plastic pots. Even though the roots are always brown -I feel more comfortable when I can see what's going on inside.
