RJ,
Oh I have others. :) I have about 9 altogether but I hadn't ever bloomed any. 2 were mature and blooming when I got them. The others (except Pinocchio) were NBS plants from ORCHIDbabies, LLC. They should be ready to bloom this year or next year's cycle. I had a rough start finding the right medium. I have them in s/h with a little charcoal thrown in and watering profusely. I didn't realize how much water they like. Here are the names of my 'mini' collection. Paph ([Golden Chalice x Pittsburg] x Maudiae 'Magnificum' FCC/RHS) Paph Honey Paph Mount Toro x wilhelminiae 'Wiz' Phrag Autumn Fire Phrag Sorcerer's Fire Phrag (Sunset Glow 'Twilight' AM/AOS x caudatum 'Barbara Ann' AM/AOS) Phrag Wossen I have one other Paph but it hasn't made it into my orchid journal inventory yet. It is a complex paph. Can't remember the name. |
woo hoo! congrats, Melissa! I got my first, and so far only, Paph rebloom last year - it's so exciting! I can't wait to see pix!

YAY!!!!! Congrats!! I can't wait to see pictures of the bloom! I remember when my first paph bloomed I was so beside myself with happiness! That particular one has bloomed 4 times so far for me, while the other paph I have doesn't seem to want to bloom! It's a "raisin pie" and I want to see how dark she is!
CONGRATULATIONS again! Spiking is always so exciting! |
Well it is definitely a spike and not a leaf. I have pics but my dsl is down. I'm posting with my iPhone.
I can't wait for the bloom. Also since I actually can produce a spike, I can buy another. If all goes well, I will be adding Phragmipedium kovachii to my collection. I'm drooling in anticipation. |

Hi All,
Update on my Paph...it is still blooming! The last bloom just fell off and another is coming. I thought I got a good photo but now I can't find the file. Darnit...have to wait for another bloom. |
wow - that's awesome!
|
I love your paph collection!
Congratulations on finally getting your pinocchio to bloom! I look forward to the pictures. |
I can identify with your excitement. I have a Paph. Pinocchio in spike also. It will be the first paph I've ever bloomed. Your plant looks very healthy. Congratulations.
