Paph. bellatulum & Paph. hirsutissimum
These two plants are currently blooming in my greenhouse...
Paph. bellatulum is an old (5 years) plant I have, which blooms regularly and grows very well... every season (since 3 years) it produces up to 5 flowers, however it rarely gets more than one at the same time...

Paph. hirsutissimum... I have this plant since 3 years, and this is the first time it blooms... flower is not very large (9 cm NS)... somehow, I do not get the curve very well with this plant, and in spring it will go back to pine bark medium, as S/H doesn't seem to help much here...

Both lovely Ramon. My hirsutissium in in bud. Hopefully this year I can bring it into bloom. Last year it blasted. Mine looks like it has made a sheath similar to a Catt, and I can see the bud inside. Is that the way yours bloomed or do I just have a weird plant?

Bellatulum is awesome. What light levels do you provide that orchid?
hirsutissimum is nice as well.

Love that P. bellatulum. Reminds me of my first Paph.

Both are gorgeous, but I think I prefer the bellatum. I love the very round bloomed paphs. I'd love to get one of them, but I'm afraid to grow paphs, don't know why.

Oh dear Camille! You must rectify your Paphlessness ASAP! If you can grow Phals well (and I know that you do) then you can be very successful growing Paphs. The conditions are virtually the same, though my Phals get a bit more light.

I guess I just have the fear of venturing off into a new genus. I used to have 2 young paphs, but I didn't have them very long before losing them in the losr package fiasco last spring. Guess I'll just have to buy a paph or 2 next time I orchid shop!
