Thanks everyone

Doc, unfortunately I have no name. I've even lost my note of the nurseries website. All I remember was that it was in Europe and they stated on their website "We specialize in producing hybrids of the American Paphiopedilum Orchids, choosing new breading lines to give superior flowers" or similar marketing style wording.

The ones for sale in my garden center were not all as nice a shape as this one, I picked the one I liked best. I've don't even have any idea if they were all the same hybrid but different seedlings, or were different hybrids. All variants of similar colouring though.

Just as I clicked post I had a memory of what the nursary might be called, and with a bit of searching found their website.

No info on names though and these may well not be named orchids.

LOL so now after a year I discover the type I fondly call pelicans are in fact bulldogs...but that one is no ordinary mutt ,its great
