Default End of Line for Paph?

I have a paph that is just starting to throw a spike. It's plumping up and emerging from the crown. Good news, right? We'll see about that...

The last time it did this it also started growing a new fan. After the the spike flowered and the flower faded, the fan grew and grew and is now throwing out this new spike.

Now that the bud is fattening up in that same fan - I can't help but notice that this time there's no new fan! Is this the end of the line for the paph? In other words, once this bud flowers, is the paph ever going to grow a new fan? Does the process have to happen together - bud from old fan and new fan grow together? Or is it possible that the paph will bloom and then that's it?

I'm not an expert on Paphs - far from it - but I think if your plant is doing well enough to bloom you probably don't need to be worried. Tho I will definitely defer to others' opinions ...
I did get a delenati last year - was in spike and only one fan - the new fan didn't start to after it finished blooming ...
I hope it will be fine

Don't worry about it. It sounds like your plant is healthy. New growth can tend to be seasonal, more likely in spring and summer, less as winiter is coming on. Flowering will happen whenever a healthy new growth matures, and the speed of that is seasonal too. You didn't say what kind of Paph you have but it doesn't matter much. If you have good culture instructions just keep doing what you're doing and you will probably see a new fan in spring if not before.

I bought 4 small paphs in flower last year and 2 of them already had a new fan, and 2 of them didn't.

After flowering the 2 which already had new growths got going quickly in growing their new fans. The other two sat dormant for a while, and then both started a new growth and got going as well.

I think it should be fine, I think you'll get a new growth either while it's in flower (1 of the 4 is in flower again now and has grown a new growth at the side since the flower opened) or a few months after the flower fades.
